NCsoft provided these tips to level up faster and get to the cool endgame without tearing your eyes out from the grind. Enjoy!
1. Hunt in groups for fun and gain. Hunting in groups helps leveling go by faster by killing mobs and finishing quests. Make sure to use the LFG (Looking For Group) chat channel if you feel you’re leveling slowly and find someone else who’s on the same quests/area you are.
2. Abyss points! If you think you’re making slow headway on leveling up, switch it up and go PvP in either the Abyss or the other race’s zone. It’s exciting, fast paced, and you earn XP and Abyss points (which you can use to buy things) at the same time.
3. Take up a hobby. Crafting is a good distraction if you feel like you’ve been grinding on mobs. It’s another mechanism in game that lets you earn XP, a little kinah on the side if you’re good, and breaks the monotony of killing things over and over.
4. Become a Hunter/Gatherer. Be more efficient with your time and gather things in-between killings (vs just resting). It will help you with #3 (above) and can also make you some kinah if you know what is selling at the brokers.
5. Hunt as a legion! Remember that while XP and AP are divided among those who fought, Contribution all goes towards one number. If you're looking to raise your contribution, hunting as a group is a safe and effective way!
6. Make use of the legion warehouse. Have your legion mail or trade their unwanted Elemental stones, Balaur reagents, and other materials to an officer for storage. From there your legion leader can distribute them to your crafters fairly.
7. Hold legion boss events. There are many Elite and Legendary bosses in Aion that take groups of people to take down. Bring your legion to ensure that the loot that drops will better your legion instead of someone else's!
8. Host PvP scrimmages. Getting used to open world PvP in the Abyss isn't always easy. Set up some legion events in the arena to help attune your players with what they will face. It may teach them the difference of when to stand and fight and when to run.
9. Securing approved game time. Volunteer to take the night feeding of your newborn child. Not only will you score big with your better half, but your legion will appreciate the two-hours of uninterrupted game time you can devote to them as well. That is, until the next feeding.
10. Take a rest. Add “Toggle Rest” to your skill bars and use it often. It drastically increases your regen rate and will help you cut back on potions/bandages for healing.
11. Avoid falling to your death. If you’re flying too high above a landing surface without enough flight time left to reach the death-free distance to it, don’t race for it! Instead cancel flight before the time runs out and let yourself fall closer to the surface. Just before hitting the ground, hit Spacebar to glide the last bit of distance. It can be tricky, but once mastered will save you in many flying situations!
12. Potions are your friend. Avoid downtime by chugging mana or health or combo potions as much as you want. Mana and health regen potions are cheap and easy to make, and will cut your downtime to nearly zero.
13. Glide to your next destination... Learning this technique well is highly beneficial to players. For one, it’s a faster travel method than running. Two, you can glide on any map once you ascend and earn your wings.

14. …And glide to safety. Gliding also becomes essential to survivability in game. Fighting becomes more and more challenging as you progress through the world of Aion. There are myriads of choke points were two or more encounters are highly probable, and often result in getting into fights that are over the player character’s abilities. Being able to glide away from a bad situation means less character deaths, less Kinah spent on soul healing, and more divine points for players to be able utilize their DP skills.
15. Use the mini-map to avoid potential pitfalls. When you select a target that you can fight, they will be highlighted on the mini-map by having their dot blink. Also, a red radar circle will appear around the selected target. This red circle is their range of aggression. If you click on the plus symbol (zoom in) next to the mini map you will get a closer look at your immediate area, and will be able to avoid the blipping red radar of a targeted creature's range of aggression.
16. Build a library. Buy the next level of Skill books and have them in your inventory (You’re level 6 and the next skill book is for level 7 or higher). That way if you level while questing, you don’t have waste time by going back to your trainer to get it.
17. When you’re broke, try a broker. Use the brokers. You get the most amount of money for items you don’t want/can’t use.
18. Make the most of your journey. Make sure to route your quests and be efficient. If you have to run somewhere make sure you do quests along the way to maximize your time.
19. Learn the power of the Return Scroll. Buy scrolls for all the major towns and cities. This way you can recall back immediately to turn in quests or meet groups. The cost of these is not so much different than the teleporters so it is well worth the money.
20. Consider Alchemy as a profession. Invest in Alchemy at an early stage. You can make health and mana potions at very little cost to you in both kinah and time. Since Aion allows you to take all professions at the beginning this is a huge help to not only keep you from dying but also to regenerate your HP and MP between fights.
21. X marks the spot. By clicking on the “Locate” button in the hyperlinked areas of the Quest Log, you can mark an X on your map guiding you to your next quest location. The full potential of your map is revealed when your Ctrl+right click on it. This places an “X” on your map that you can then customize to note whatever you want, whether its crafting resource nodes, scenic areas you want to show your friends or quest hubs that are hard to find.
22. The power of strafing. Combat in Aion is more than standing around and hitting the “2” key. Movement is key and knowing when to move which direction will make the difference between life and death. For example, moving right or left during combat greatly benefits the Scout class since that increases the chance to Evade and therefore opens an opportunity to use Counter Attack. Similarly, the Warrior and Templar enjoy abilities that are triggered by Blocking so moving backwards during combat can be crucial.
23. Embrace hotkeys. The “Q” and “E” buttons are great for strafing but you can also use “A” and “D” while holding the right mouse button to strafe. This frees those buttons up for hotkeying additional skills. The “Shift” button is a great modifier for additional hotkeys, too.
24. Save, save, save. By being thrifty with unique in-game items early in your career, you can maximize their potential later on. For example, wait to use the Lodas Amulets for when you are in the challenging Elite areas where each kill will net you a huge chunk of XP.
25. Level up and look good doing it. By Ctrl + Left Clicking on an item (in the Broker, in the chat frame or in a vendor’s dialog box) you can preview how a piece of equipment will look on your character. This can help inform those important decisions when you have to decide between two similar pieces of equipment.
