Im confused on how to find spells, do I just search everywere untill I run into one? Or are there some hints on their location.

No, their randomly placed around EVERYWHERE in the server. No hints or help.

Lets say the map is 1000x1000 blocks wide no Y(height) its 0.000001 chance you would find a spell if its only 1 out sooo :) or 1 out of 1 000 000

and if it would be 1500x1500x150 (don't know how large it's actually is) and 1 spell out there it would be 0.00005733 chance you would run into one so your chances is very small :) or 1 out of 337 500 000 to get it

Its perectly fine ^^
there is 1 million blocks in first and magicbox(or whats it's called) is 1 block so 1 out of 1 million to find it tell me where i'm wrong?

ofcourse in second there is air and stuff but i'm not really going to go into that and also some spells may be more visible than others(caruful not to tell something about them since i don't wanna break the rules :o)

There are spells constantly being added to the wilds, just go look.

If you find something that isn't part of the natural terrain, you've probably got a spell dungeon if it's not inside a town or someone's freebuild project.

There are also spells hidden about the wilds NOT inside dungeons, and just hidden by the natural terrain (slightly altered to be a little harder to see)

There are basic spell hints in the Arcanium, and someone who knows where a spell DUNGEON (ONLY dungeon) is can guide you there, but you may not share it's coordinates, you must guide them there. Open-air spells, the ones not in dungeons, may NOT be shown to others.

You are allowed to share spell names, and I'll list the spells in-game as of this posting.

mark
recall
treetrim
firetools
gills
fastgrow
frostwalk

so that's 2 spells in the Arcanium (mark/recall) and 5 spells in the wilds so far.

I have mark and recall and they are very usefull, is it posible to use the map to find the spell dungeons? Its hard to tell what was built by a player and what could be one of the spell dungeons. Ill just start searching the structures that look like they could be a dungeon.

I just found a dungeon, pushed a button... and fell into a lava trap. But the good thing is I know how to find it again.

As to what they do, that info's freely available on other websites so I'll just write it here.

fastgrow: Causes any sapling you plant to grow into a tree instantly.

firetools: Causes mined blocks to be smelted instantly.

frostwalk: Freezes sea water beneath you.

gills: Allows you to breath underwater for a time.

mark: Marks your current location for later recall.

recall: Recalls you to your marked location.

treetrim: Your axe destroys many leaves in one swing.

Actually its not you cant take statistics into account when dealing with human logic because you fail to take into account the number of times that person may walk over the same block. You also fail to take into account failures in memory of where that person may have been previously and where they are searching. Unfortunately statistics only can account for something that is randomly generated by a computerized or given program. Not the human mind =)

Treetrim: If you right click with treetrim (As opposed to left clicking and deleting leaves), I found today that you can add 1 block of leaves to an existing tree that way. Is that intended?

well if you start on block 1000 1000 and go up and down all across the map 1 of those 1 million blocks will be a spell box and i also was just proving that it's alot less than 5%

I'm sorry but you're talking about the chance of any given block being a spell, not the chance of 'running into one'.

To defuse the terrible logic of previous posters:

The map is approximately a 2000 block radius. Do the area formula and you get 12.56 million blocks. Yes, that is a lot of area, however...

* If you consider the fact that spells are either in fortresses/dungeons/underwater, this limits the places that the spell could possibly be.
* Spells (aside from Mark/Recall) are not going to be in the Sanctum.
* Spells are not going to be located inside cities.
* Spells are bookcases, usually surrounded by obsidian with the occasional redstone torch and a sign indicating the spell contained within.

If you still say that it is too hard to find spells, tough. This server is supposed to be hardcore, not for pansies and carebears.

lol carebears Anyways..... ive found 2 and one was not that hard to find tbh Tho the puzzle inside one was alittle hard but Im all for that
