Madlum-NATO Treaty
The undersigned leaders of NATO (Elroy72, Hawaianguy1189, Capn_Danger, Aussie Dingbat, Matt Mellander, AlexDaParrot, Arclune) and leader of Madlum (MaikkyWin) will agree to these (3) terms:

1. NATO and Madlum will come to an immediate peace. All hostile acts are to be ceased.

2. The fortress will REMAIN. However, all citizens are allowed to move freely.

3. Madlum will receive protectorate privileges from NATO nations. If Madlum happens to go to war (so long as they are not the aggressor), NATO nations are obligated to protect Madlum, and vice-versa.

If any of these terms are broken, this treaty will immediately nullify, and will trigger a war against Madlum.

As the president of TOP, I sign this treaty on behalf of TOP as a whole, as well as the cities of Nova, Cliff Haven, Artemis and Lothloria.

I currently don't have access to the Mayor commands, but as soon as I do I will send through a peace treaty and will be instructing the other mayors to be doing so as well.

We now consider hostilities ended, and hope that this can be the beginning of a mutually beneficial relationship.

Also side note if your going to put gates can you atleast put visible buttons? these are kinda confusing to navigate....

I'm all for items 1 and 2, but can't see why item 3 is there. Its a bad idea. We're practically inviting them to become members of NATO here, guys!

Madlum benefits greatly from NATO protection, but NATO does not need Madlum's military aid nearly as much. It doesn't make much sense to end a war by offering the enemy access to the entirety of our military power, especially seeing as how we appeared to have the upper hand.

I call for revoking item 3 from the treaty, let's settle for peace and the resumption of trade but leave our military forces where they belong, in our own control.

If you had read, it is a mutual defence pact, we do not help if Madlum is the agressor and vice versor.

History has taught us this is the best cause of action, and I believe that Madlum will rise to the occassion, better for this baptism of fire. I look forward to fighting side by side with my Madlum brothers in arms against what ever should come our way.

I fully agree but that Barricade wasn't necessarily and most members of madlum want it gone.
I don't get why it was there in first place.
Madlum agreed to live in peace with the other towns but we don't wanna have visitors be intimidated by the giant fort in front around the tunnel.
also there is a really big word hanging in the air: NATO but why isn't there hanging Madlum?
Since we agreed to these terms i believe the barricade needs to be removed, other towns don't get any profit from this thing and its just frustrating us (civilians of Madlum).

Madlum should move it's tunnel. The fort is cool, but frankly it's an eyesore.

Yeah, I realize it is a mutual defense pact, my pointwas that Madlum benefits greatly from NATO's aid, but NATO does not really need Madlum's military aid. That bargain is heavily weighted in Madlum's favor.

Still, I hope what you say is true, which would make my complaint beside the point. If things are going forward with the treaty as it stands perhaps we can organize a joint venture right off the bat, get things started on the right foot?

I hear about these Assassins causing problems. If the rumors are true, then they are nothing but marauding highwaymen, the lot of them just greasy thugs without morals or restraint! Maybe some joint patrols of their hunting grounds would be in order?

Part of said agreement say's that the building is to stay put, and that it will. It was made to stop trade to your town (or make people aware that going to madlum was deadly) and to "siege" your town. The fort was NATO built and was built in time of war against madlum and there for will stay as only NATO, this will allow us to use our fort in either time of war against you or to help stop the enemy that is trying to get easy access to you. There is no reason to remove the fort unless told to by an admin/ect... it was in our treaty to keep it there and that treaty was signed by the madlum mayor.

Yeah, that was the most fun I've ever had in Minecraft. I'm a little confused about the treaty though, isn't it usually the "losing" side that takes more responsibility, none of the reasons for the war were brought up in the treaty.

Usually. But certain circumstances arose, which lead to these terms.

Oh, and to make this clear. This was NOT a surrender. It was a COMPROMISE MET through diplomacy. Compromise does not equal surrender. We gave them a deal, and they accepted it. No surrender was made.
