Here's a brief right up of some useful bits of information.
-The UMP deals heavy damage even at range, which is unusual for an SMG, however it is hard to control.
-Even though it says short range, the M93 Raffica is an excellent mini-M16 that works wonderfully at range, you have to hit with 2 bursts.
-Just like in the campaign, thermal visions can see through smoke.
-Planting C4 on bomb sites makes for an excellent defense tool since almost nobody expects them. Camp nearby and listen for the "suitcase opening sound" or use a heartbeat monitor to know when to activate its detonation.
-LISTEN TO FOOTSTEPS, I can't stress this enough, do not play while listening to MP3s, it puts you at a major disadvantage
-If your radar is jammed, it's best to camp somewhere safe (in a room with 1 entry for example) until it's back up.
-If your radar is jammed DO NOT ACTIVATE YOUR UAV it has no effect.
-Inversely, it may be best to wait with activating your UAV jammer until after hearing "enemy UAV is up".
-Both the enemy UAV and UAV jammer are little planes on the sky that can be shot down with guns and launchers.
-UAVs actually stack. If there are 2 friendly UAVs active, you get double the radar refresh rate. It's however more useful to use them one after each other.
-KILL HARRIERS. Many people use the Predator missile - Harrier - Chopper gunner combination to own. Stop them in their tracks, one launcher shot kills harriers!
-If there is something killworthy in the sky and you get killed by it, immediately switch to your launcher class (advised: Sleight of Hand, Javelin, Coldblooded) to take it down.
-Commando almost quadruples your melee range. (64 "units" standard + 176 commando)
-One Man Army can be used to switch to the same OMA class and essentially restock everything on that class, this can be used for unlimited grenades/claymores/etc. It takes 6/3(pro) seconds to switch. It can also be used with LMGs to drastically shorten the "reload".
-While crouchwalking with your riot shield, look slightly down to avoid getting your feet shot.
-Do not use the riot shield while lagging. Ever. People will abuse it and knife you in your back when on your screen you were always facing them.
-Hardline is most useful with low killstreaks (UAV, Counter UAV, Care Package, etc)
-If you do not really need different sights, consider the heartbeat monitor, it's a really mighty tool. Cannot be used on SMGs.
-Snipers all do 70 damage, but have differing modifiers. The most powerful snipers are the intervention (bolt action) and the .50 cal (high recoil). The last sniper is like Cod4's M21, very weak with almost no recoil.
-Using silencers on snipers or LMGs WILL reduce their damage. In core (which is what weapons are balanced for) you WILL have to trade off your ability to do oneshot kills (even in the head) with silenced snipers.
-Blast shield grants immunity to stun grenades, even your own.
-Scavenger will not restock unless you lack an equipment or anything from the weapon you CURRENTLY use. If you use up both M203 grenades and walk over one of the blue bags (which is what scavenger actually takes), you will not restock if you have your Rifle active. Switch to the M203 so it says "NO AMMO" on your screen to re-stock (or fire a shot from your rifle).
-Do not underestimate handguns. They may seem lacking compared to machine pistols and shotguns, but their advantage is their switch time. It takes you over a second to switch to other secondaries, while it takes about half a second to switch to pistols.
-NEVER place claymores directly facing a door. Instead place them at an angle towards the entrance, so the enemy can't see the laser beams. The explosion after 0.83 seconds in a 90° arc will get them.
-Stun grenades and scrambler pro make claymores useless.
-A melee attack instantly kills turret guns.
-Look directly above you before calling in any air support crates, or they might end up on a roof, a bridge or a crane arm.
-Semtex is the easiest way to kill riot shield bearers, stick it to their shield and watch them explode.
-Lightweight has a much stronger effect on slower primaries like LMGs and the Riot shield. It's still not negligible on fast primaries, however it's a matter of preference.
-Good combinations:
*Riot Shield + Throwing Knife = unexpected instakill that exposes you only for about a second
*Any class with Steady Aim + Akimbo G18, they have great accuracy for close to mid ranges
*AUG-HBAR + Stopping Power makes for a "Rifle" that can 2 shot at any distance
*SCAR-H + Sleight of Hand or Scavenger Pro; Powerful rifle that has low ammunation and small magazines.
